For Education

The stories we hand young people shape the world they grow into.

I spent over a decade working in youth work and secondary education. I’ve sat with young people navigating systems that weren’t designed for them, and I’ve watched how the unspoken story a school tells about itself — ‘we’re a difficult school,’ ‘these are challenging kids’ — becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that affects every person inside the building.

I’ve also watched what happens when those stories start to shift.

The myths and stories we hand young people — about gender, about success, about who gets to have a voice — are largely outdated. They were written for a society that no longer exists, and they’re not equipping young people for the one we’re in.

Change the Script in Education is a dedicated strand of work for schools, colleges, and education settings that want to do something about that. It’s in development and I’m building it carefully.

What it will include

  • Staff wellbeing and voice workshops for teaching and support staff

  • Institutional narrative work — helping schools examine and rewrite the story they tell about themselves

  • PSHE-aligned storytelling sessions for young people

  • Specialist support for settings working with neurodivergent students

If you’re working in education and this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Join my mailing list to be first to know when this strand launches, or get in touch directly to have an early conversation.
